Becker was established in 1784 and its history starts with the historic Leicester campus, which is the the 19th oldest campus in the country. The college's official founding began actually in 1974, when Becker Junior College and Leicester Junior College began working together to expand academic offerings, as a result of their close cooperation, the 2 institutions being formally consolidated in 1977 as Becker College.
